India-New Zealand Test

India-New Zealand Test: India has only taken around 45 minutes to conclude the Test, grabbing five wickets left. The victory margin for India is the most impressive ever on their soil.

India defeated New Zealand by 372 runs on the fourth day of the second and last match at Wankhede Stadium to win the series 1-1.

The comprehensive win against New Zealand is India’s most significant by-runs margin in Tests, surpassing the 337-run win against South Africa at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, New Delhi, in 2015.

India has taken around 45 minutes to conclude the Test, removing five wickets left.

Its margin was the biggest ever for India on their home turf. This was Rahul Dravid’s first win in a Test as a coach.

For a team who struggled to the death in Kanpur, the additional bounce and the turn could pose typical challenges about Kiwis in a game that they’ll try to remember for Ajaz Patel’s heroics of 10 wickets.

Incredibly, Patel played 73.5 overs in 2 innings in New Zealand, and his team played 84.4 overs, which is the complete defeat.

Indian spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin scored 4-34, while spin bowler Jayant Yadav picked up 4-49 as New Zealand were all out for 167 during the first session and chased 540 to win victory.

Ravichandran Ashwin also completed his 300th wicket on Indian ground to end the match in a flash.

Jayant Yadav, who was not in good form in the third and final evening, was able to find his groove with a best-ever performance of 14-4-49-4 after last playing an official Test in the year 2017.

The five-wicket haul was his first score in a Test and considering that he’s never been a success in first-class cricket and has been plagued with injuries and in poor form, the head coach Rahul Dravid’s belief in his skills certainly bore the fruits.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s score of 8-42 is second-best for a bowler who ends in a five-wicket haul in a Test match. Legendary leg spinner Shane Warne had 8-24 vs. Pakistan in Sharjah in 2002.

The Test that was held in Kanpur was the draw.

It’s the second time Virat Kohli-led Team India has defeated the Black Caps with a massive margin.

In 2016, India beat New Zealand by 321 runs in the third and final Test match to win 3-0 in the Indore’s Holkar Stadium series.
