india vs england 2nd test day 3 live score

A catch-behind review taken by England in the last over before lunch on Day 3 of the second India-England Test in Chennai, in which replays showed a large gap between bat and ball, has stunned the fans.

The Review happened in ’48, with Dan Lawrence part-time bowling against Ravichandran Ashwin and Virat Kohli. With Ashwin head-on, there was a sharp turn of the ball and goalkeeper Ben Foakes made a one-handed collection.

After some deliberation, England opted for the Review against Ashwin, basing its appeal on the sound they had heard. However, replays showed that there was a large gap between the bat and the ball when the delivery was turned sharply and that the sound was coming from Ashwin’s bat hitting the ground.

As replays showed how wrong the Review had been, Root sarcastically pointed out that there was only a small gap between bat and ball, but coach Chris Silverwood was seen laughing on the locker room balcony.
