Elden Ring Morgott the Omen King Guide: Morgott the Omen King is one of Elden Ring’s key story-driven boss fights. How to Defeat Morgott the Omen King in Elden Ring?
Morgott the Omen King can be found near the end of Leyndell, Royal Capital, waiting for you above the city and toward the center tree.
The fight against Morgott the Omen King is likely one of the most difficult in Elden Ring. Thus, we recommend employing some co-operation or maybe a spirit ash call to aid you in your quest to defeat the boss.
What should you do to prepare for Morgott the Omen King?
We’re not going to lie: Morgott the Omen King is one of the most difficult opponents in all of Elden Ring, and that’s saying a lot.
Morgott resembles Margit the Fell Omen and is essentially a Super Saiyan version of the first tale monster.
You’ll want to bring your hardest physical armor into the fight against Morgott the Omen King, just like Margit did before him, for he hits like a truck.
Also, bring Margit’s Shackle from Patches to the fight because it can knockdown and momentarily ground Morgott in the same way it did Margit.
Outside of the boss arena, we recommend applying a Furled Finger Remedy.
Even if there aren’t any player summon signs around, you’ll be able to summon none other than Melina herself for this fight, and she’s a master at diverting the boss’s attention when you need it.
How to Defeat Morgott the Omen King in Elden Ring?
Remember how Margit would summon Holy weapons out of nowhere? In the battle against Morgott the Omen King, you’ll see much of that.
The new boss will conjure a gigantic spear and rush at you like a joust or slam the spear tip down onto the ground in front of you in one attack.
Both blows can cause Bleed damage, but both can be avoided by dodging the point of impact at the last available second.
Morgott also enjoys using the dagger-hammer combo that Margit favored. Instead of rising into the air, the monster will throw two rounds of three daggers at you from a distance before coming in and striking you with the hammer.
To counter this, simply dodge roll sideways to avoid the daggers, then dodge roll underneath Morgott’s hammer smashes to land a decent attack.
In the fight against Morgott, you’ll see a lot of chained combination moves, and they’ll come thick and fast.
Finally, the boss will summon the hammer and spin around with it in one hand and the sword in the other.
This is perhaps the most difficult attack sequence to evade in the entire fight against Morgott the Omen King. So timing your dodges so that you’re halfway through them by the time the boss hits you.
Morgott will drop to one knee at about half health as if he’s about to succumb to a visceral attack.
But, during this time, stay back since he’s preparing to scream and unleash a massive shockwave attack that will last the duration of his second phase.
Bubbling points of water will now strew the battlefield. Therefore, you must be careful not to tread into them, or you will take damage and be vulnerable to Morgott’s attacks.
During this second phase, the boss might also unleash a barrage of Holy swords. He’ll summon swords pointing towards the earth above him.
Remember, this is your cue to back off, as the swords will rain down for a few seconds around him before fanning out in straight lines towards the battlefield’s boundary.
If you’re not sure if you’re standing beneath the swords’ path, raise your head slightly.
Finally, Morgott can integrate Bleed damage into his blade during this phase.
It takes the shape of a large slashing blow, which is mercifully telegraphed by the monster holding the point of his sword back and charging towards you.
You should be able to avoid this strike if you dodge just before the blade leaves Morgott’s grasp.
