State police in Pennsylvania said that a home fire claimed the lives of 10, including 3 children. Three people put out the fire, and police are still looking into it.
According to state police, authorities arrived at the two-story house in Nescopeck at 2:42 a.m. local time.
They discovered that while three individuals had escaped, others were still trapped inside.
Several responding agencies and K9 teams found the victims inside the house.
Dale Baker, 19, Star Baker, 22, David Daubert, 79, Brian Daubert, 42, Shannon Daubert, 45, Laura Daubert, 47, and Marian Slusser, 54, were those named by the state police.
In addition, a 7-year-old girl, a 6-year-old boy, and a 5-year-old boy were among the other three children that perished.
Firefighter Harold Baker of the Nescopeck Volunteer Fire Co. revealed to the Wilkes-Barre newspaper, Citizens’ Voice, that among the 10 dead were his son, daughter, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, three grandkids, and two other relatives.
According to Baker, the first location provided on the call was a neighbor’s house. Still, when the fire engine drew near, he learned it was his family’s house.
According to Baker, who spoke to the Citizens’ Voice, “When we rounded the corner up here on Dewey (Street), I knew straight away what home it was simply by glancing down the street.” “When we drove up, I was on the first engine, and the whole area was heavily engaged. We made an effort to enter them.”
However, after hearing a loud popping noise or explosion, neighbors claimed to have seen the home’s front porch quickly engulfed in flames. Others claimed to have heard a young guy yelling, “They’re all dead,” in front of the house.
