Yashwant Sinha will submit his nomination on June 27 for the presidency

Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), said on Tuesday that opposition presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha would submit his candidacy on June 27 at 11:30 am.

For the forthcoming presidential elections, which will be held on July 18, 2022, former union minister Mr Sinha has been selected as the joint opposition’s consensus candidate.

At the Opposition gathering, Mr Pawar said, “We are going to submit the nomination for the Presidential elections on June 27 at 11.30 am.”

According to reports on Tuesday, Droupadi Murmu, the presidential candidate for the BJP-led NDA, is expected to make her candidacy on June 25.

The moment has come, Mr Sinha said, to stand away from the party and strive for greater opposition unity for a more significant national cause. He thanked West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC leader Mamata Banerjee.

“I am appreciative to Mamataji for the respect and honor she showered upon me inside the TMC. The moment has come for me to leave the party in order to promote greater opposition unity for a more important national cause. She probably approves of the action, “Tweeted he.

The nomination of Yashwant Sinha by the united opposition, according to TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, is an honour.

“Since Yashwant Sinha was long affiliated with the TMC, we are honored that the united opposition has chosen him. Our disagreements must be set aside. We need to choose someone to serve as the Indian Constitution’s protector “Abhishek Banerjee expressed his opinion.

Mr Sinha has served the country in many roles as an adept administrator, accomplished politician, and celebrated Union Minister of Finance and External Affairs over his long and illustrious career in public life.

According to the press release, he is “eminently competent” to maintain the Indian Republic’s secular and democratic character and its constitutional ideals.
