Everyone would like if the prices do not rise: Nitish Kimar on rising petrol diesel prices

Speaking about rising fuel prices across the country, Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Tuesday that while everyone would like prices not to go up, for now prices are going up.

“… Everyone would like prices not to go up but right now prices are going up. Everyone can see that ”, was quoted by AND ME.

Responding to journalists in a video, the Chief Minister of Bihar can be heard saying that it is his choice to use an electric vehicle as it does not have a harmful impact on the environment. “However, gasoline or diesel vehicles have some kind of impact,” he added.

Diesel and gasoline prices have reach all-time highs across the country, with gasoline touching Rs 89 per liter in Delhi on Monday, and diesel hitting a new high of Rs 86.30 per liter in Mumbai.

The relentless rise in prices has been criticized by opposition parties, including Congress, who have demanded an immediate reduction in taxes to ease the burden on the common man. Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan told parliament last week that the government is not considering a reduction in excise duties to cool rates from their all-time highs.
