Finally rewarded for his consistency, prolific Mumbai hitter Suryakumar Yadav described his sentiment as “surreal”, one day after winning a first call from India for the upcoming T20I series against England.
Suryakumar was overlooked for limited matches in Australia late last year despite a good IPL, leaving many in the Indian cricket fraternity in shock.

The 30-year-old Mumbai batsman, who has been a consistent player in the Indian Premier League for his Mumbai Indians franchise and also on the domestic circuit, was rewarded for his performances on Saturday.
Surya, who has captained Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy and other national tournaments, has played 77 first-class matches and accumulated 5,326 runs.
Some former Indian cricketers also used Twitter to express their satisfaction with the selection of the right hitter on the national team.
