Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 340 km Purvanchal Highway in Uttar Pradesh on November 16. The Highway will connect the east and west of Uttar Pradesh.
Built at a cost of Rs 42,000 crore, the Expressway begins in the town of Chand Sarai in Lucknow. You will pass through Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau, and Ghazipur.
Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had started construction of the six-lane Purvanchal Highway from Lucknow to Ghazipur via Azamgarh. The highway may be expanded to eight lanes in the future.
The government led by Yogi Adityanath claims that the Highway will not only open the way for industrial activities but will also boost the development of Purvanchal and provide employment for large numbers of people.
Ahead of the 2022 Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the focus of the Yogi Adityanath government is on five major development projects related to roads and airways. Some of these projects will be completed before the elections, while work on others will continue even after the elections.
The Uttar Pradesh government is regularly monitoring the progress of four main highways, of which work on three is underway, while the fourth has yet to start.
