The PDP leader claimed to the media that the BJP wants to change the tricolor to saffron. According to her, the BJP would also undermine the secularism and the basis of the Constitution, upon which India’s nation was built, in the future. The BJP wants it to become a religious nation. She said that the BJP wants to change the tricolor that people are joyfully flying today into a saffron flag.

Mehbooba Mufti said, “They (BJP) would replace the national flag just like they grabbed the Jammu and Kashmir Constitution and flag.” However, we have pledged to reclaim our flag and constitution. Additionally, we’ll compel them to settle the Kashmir dispute, for which tens of thousands of people have given their lives.

Later, the demonstration was stopped by the police, who had everyone return to the party offices.
