Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid his homage to famed social reformer Sree Narayana Guru at Sivagiri Mutt on Wednesday before embarking on the fourth day of the party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Kerala.
Rahul Gandhi visited the swamis at the Sivagiri Mutt and prayed for the revered reformer there.
Following three days in Thiruvananthapuram district, the yatra will reach the Kollam district of the state throughout the day. The yatra started around 7.30 am from Navaikulam junction and continues to have an encouraging turnout.

On Tuesday, Mr. Gandhi questioned how a party that proclaims itself a representative of Hindus was purportedly propagating “ashanti” in the nation when the first words taught in Hinduism are “om shanti,” after the conclusion of that day’s yatra at the Kallambalam intersection here.
He had said that “they are destroying peace wherever they go, assaulting people, separating them, and abusing them.”
The Congress leader said that even blisters would not halt their trip as he and several yatris marched through the streets without an umbrella as it rained on the third day of the Kerala leg of the yatra. The yatra continued despite intermittent rain and a growing public turnout.
The 150-day foot march began on September 7 in the neighboring Tamil Nadu region of Kanyakumari, and it will pass through 12 states and two union territories.
The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which arrived in Kerala on September 10 in the evening, will travel 450 kilometers across the state, stopping in seven districts over 19 days, before making its way into Karnataka on October 1.
