Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday that no vaccinations for category 18+ will take place in the national capital on May 1. Addressing the media, he said the shipment has not yet reached Delhi, adding that it will be available to the public. probably in the next 1-2 days.

The AAP government, he said, has asked both companies, Bharat Biotech (Covaxin) and Serum Institute of India (Covishield), to make 67 lakh doses each available to the government in the next three months.

“Vaccination for those between the ages of 18 and 44 is scheduled to start tomorrow. But the vaccines have not yet arrived. We are in constant contact with the manufacturers and we are hopeful that the vaccines will arrive here tomorrow and the day after.”, He said.

“The Delhi government is ready to make the payments. The people of Delhi will get free vaccinations,” he said.

The CM said that the Covid-19 vaccine will be provided to everyone and asked not to rush out of your home to receive the vaccine. He added that a plan has been prepared to vaccinate everyone over the age of 18 in three months.

“We are doing our best to get the people of Delhi vaccinated in the next 3 months,” added the CM.

The next phase of vaccination for those over 18 years of age will begin in the country as of May 1. However, several states have cited incapacity due to lack of supply.

According to data from the Health Department, vaccines have been administered to a total of 31,01,562 beneficiaries. This includes 24,82,778 beneficiaries who have received the first dose and 6,18,784 beneficiaries who have received the second dose as of April 28.
