Delhi amid an Omicron fear.

The nation’s capital city is experiencing an unprecedented increase in COVID-19 cases.

This COVID-19 outbreak affects almost everybody, especially those in the frontline, such as

Police and health workers.

Delhi Police officials on Monday (January 10, 2022) morning said that Delhi Police officials

on Monday (January 10, 2022) morning announced that more than 300 Delhi Police

personnel, including the Public Relations Officer (PRO) and Additional Commissioner

Chinmoy Biswal, test positive for coronavirus.

“Over 300 Delhi Police personnel, including the Public Relations Officer (PRO) & Additional

Commissioner Chinmoy Biswal, test COVID-19 positive,” stated Delhi Police.

The strength of the Delhi Police is over 80,000.

In the past, Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana issued the Standard Operating

Procedure (SOP) for stopping the spread of coronavirus among police officers.

According to the SOP, all police officers must wear face masks, maintain social distance,

and practice good hand hygiene when performing their job.

All police personnel and family members who haven’t been vaccinated might be motivated

to finish the vaccination procedure.

In the meantime, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) is scheduled to meet

on the 15th of April to discuss additional restrictions, such as ‘total curfew’ in the Graded

Response Action Plan (GRAP).

In addition, the plan includes a discussion of the COVID-19 situation and preparations in

the wake of increasing Omicron instances in Delhi.

On Sunday, earlier, Delhi reported 22,751 cases which were 12 percent more than the

number reported yesterday (20,181). The rate of positivity was 23.53 percent. The city

also recorded 17 deaths, the highest number of Covid deaths in a single day since the 16th

of June the previous year.
