Ex-Razer Designer Creates Gaming Keyboard Controller

Ex-Razer Designer Creates Gaming Keyboard Controller: Controller vs. keyboard is a debate that has ongoing for years between PC gamers. The latter is typically more comfortable to hold and may help with games requiring specific precise or fast movement types.

These features make controllers the preferred choice for driving games and third-person action. But the mouse and keyboard remain the top and queen of precise inputs, which makes them a must for fans of shooter games that are first person.

Numerous companies like Razer have tried to bridge this gap using specific gaming keyboards. However, they’re typically not the most ergonomic designs.

In the present, the former Razer designer Edward Larkin thinks he has the answer. The company has recently introduced the brand new Alt Motion Controller, which Larkin believes can change the face of PC gaming by giving players the very best of both.

Although Larkin does not expect the Alt Motion to replace the keyboard or mouse, it appears to be capable of many things. Its PLA Labs Alt Motion Controller almost resembles the trackball, but it is replaced with the central joystick and two more miniature joysticks on each side.

These three sticks function similarly to those used on the hand-held controller and have the added benefit that users can utilize all three simultaneously.

Additionally, users can apply any commands they wish onto the stick, giving PC gamers a variety of combinations. Alt Motion even includes a built-in analog steering wheel to play driving games.

Naturally, cost and convenience are crucial factors for purchasing any new piece.

One could glance at the strange-looking device and imagine it could have an extensive learning curve. According to Larkin, it’s not so steep as you believe.

The expert claims that newbies can master the technique in only 15 to 24 hours of use. This is because Alt Motion users don’t need to be concerned about shifting their fingers.

For the cost, it’s estimated that it expect that the Alt Motion will go for $250 when it goes on sale at the end of this year. This is similar to the Razer Huntsman V2 or Logitech G915 Lightspeed gaming keyboard.

But, with the Alt Motion novel design, it’s not easy to figure out the right price.

The controllers, however, not yet available as of yet, and PLA Labs have yet to reveal a date for their release.

PLA Labs plans to begin pre-orders beginning in March. However, interested buyers can sign up to PLA Labs’ mailing list. By doing so, they automatically become users into a raffle to win a brand new controller when the product release.

The majority of PC gamers will watch to see whether Alt Motion’s Alt Motion tech lives up to the claims made on the company’s website.
