Formula One Legend Lewis Hamilton Is Prepared To Invest In Chelsea Takeover Bid

The seven-time Formula One world champion said Friday that he couldn’t pass up the chance to be part of a consortium that wants to buy English Premier League club, Chelsea. In addition to Hamilton, Serena Williams, and Martin Broughton, a group led by Broughton could invest up to 10 million pounds each, Sky News reports.

The biggest club in the world is Chelsea, says Hamilton, who has always been a fan of football, “the biggest sport globally.”

After hearing about this, I thought, “Wow! This is one of the best chances to be a part of something so great.”

On Friday, Hamilton said that he had been a fan of Chelsea’s bitter city rivals, Arsenal, since five or six.

So he’s been to many games with his uncle to see Arsenal and Chelsea play.

Lewis Hamilton said that Broughton called him after Roman Abramovich said he would sell the European champions to someone else.

When Hamilton called Martin, he told him and his team’s goals if they won the bid, which was exciting and aligned with his values.

Abramovich, a Russian billionaire, put Chelsea up for sale on March 2 after Russia invaded Ukraine. He was then hit with sanctions from the UK.

Chelsea has been permitted by the government to keep going, but only if they follow the rules.

In this case, Abramovich can’t make money from the sale of Chelsea. He said he would write off the club’s debt of £1.5 billion ($2 billion).

Candidates for the presidency of World Athletics aren’t the only ones running for the job. Todd Boehly, a co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team and a Boston Celtics basketball team owner, runs for president. Sebastian Coe is a big fan of Chelsea and is on board with Broughton’s candidacy.
