Covid 19 Hotline Singapore on 28 June 2021: 12 new community cases of COVID-19 in Singapore.
Singapore: Singapore reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 in the community on Sunday (June 27), including one with no links to previous issues.
Of the 11 community infections linked to previous cases, ten people were quarantined already. The Ministry of Health (MINSA) said they detected one through surveillance.
The only unrelated COVID-19 case in Singapore was a 37-year-old man who works as a litter surveyor at GW Marine.
Identified as case 64483, he was tested for COVID-19 on June 24 as part of the routine tests listed, and the combined test result came back positive the next day.
The man was administered an individual test on June 26, and his test came back positive for COVID-19. His previous examination of the routine tests listed, the latest on June 21, was negative for COVID-19.
The man received his first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine on January 20 and the second dose on February 10.
Five of the community COVID-19 cases reported on Sunday were linked to a group at Changi General Hospital (CGH), bringing the total number of patients in the group to 10.
However, the authority already quarantined four of the new cases and one who detected through surveillance.
Two of the quarantined cases were a 58-year-old homemaker and a 16-year-old Republic Polytechnic student. Both were family members and household contacts from previously reported cases.
The student was last on campus on June 1 and received her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on June 16. The 58-year-old woman received the first dose of it on June 2.
Two of the other cases, a 62-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, were porters who worked at CGH and the National University Hospital, respectively.
The man was a workplace contact for the five porters who worked at CGH. The woman was a domestic and family contact for the 58-year-old woman and a janitor who worked at CGH.
The last case was that of a 69-year-old woman who works as a health assistant at CGH. She was last at work on June 21 and developed body aches on June 24. She tried medical treatment at a polyclinic the same day, but she did not test for COVID-19.
The woman subsequently developed a fever and sore throat on the night of June 25. Therefore, she tried medical treatment at a local general medicine clinic, where they suggested her for a COVID-19 test.
She sought medical treatment at CGH on June 26, and this time she tested for COVID-19. Her report came positive for Covid-19.
