Upper Age Limit Raise To 30 For West Bengal Police Recruitment

According to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the West Bengal government on Wednesday agreed to increase the maximum age for hiring police constables from 27 to 30 years old.

According to her, it was also decided to ease the age and physical requirements for employing police officers’ relatives under the exempt category based on compassion.

The chief minister also declared that civil defense workers, village police, home guards, and civic volunteers would be qualified for the promotion and that there would be a relaxation of the upper age limit to 35 years old as well as of the physical requirements for promotion to the position of constable.

The state also announced the implementation of uniform allowance for various categories of police officers in the West Bengal Police and Kolkata Police.
